Itinerary:
Day 1: Seminyak / Bali - Banyuwangi / Java
Starting point of this Amazing Tour is our Homebase near Seminyak in the south of Bali. After a short briefing and morning snack we start through Canggu on narrow roads. When we driving through traditional villages we see the balinese crafts and the real life of them.
After a short sightseeing and break, we ride from Tabanan to the west and across the mountains to the north coast of Bali.
We make some photo stops to see the rice paddies, local villages and the balinese life.... It will be a relaxed drive with less traffic but a lot of curves.
We catch many of these impressions for you with our helmet cam.
We enjoy our lunch in a small balinese Warung.
On the northside of Bali we follow the coast street to the ferry port to Java.
Just a hour need the ferry to Java Island.
After a supply- and photo stop in Banyuwangi we ride uphill on small roads to the Volcano Kawah Ijen.
In a little guest house with a lovely tropical garden at the foot of the Volcano ends our first day with a Dinner and if you like, a cold beer.

Day 2:Volcano Kawah ijen:
Wake up time is very early (without mercy) at 01:00 am in the morning! After a short prepare time we leave the guesthouse to ride on the Volcano ijen.
It will be a bit fresh. Our parking place is the ranger station in 1800 m altitude.
We receive our masks to protect us inside the crater from the sulfur dampen. With head-lights and small luggage we climb up at night to the volcano rim. The path is steep but very well developed. We will be not alone.
After a 1,5 - 2 hrs hike with some breaks we arrive the hut from the sulfur-miners.
From here we trek the last peak to the crater rim at 2200m altitude on the active volcano ijen.
We need 30 min to trek down, inside the Krater with his sulfur flames and the blue lake.
There we experience an incredible atmosphere.
We see the miners working to breakdown of sulfur, and the whole power of the earth!
Blue, red or yellow flame hissing out of the earth, sulfur vapor are in the air, but we are well prepared.
The time will be gone fast. At 4 am we leave the crater, to enjoy at the crater-rim the next highlight: The sunrise!
Back at the workers hut we take a longer rest with some surprises. Then it goes in short steps back to the ranger station.
Against 7:30 in the morning we are back at the guest house, to relax a few hours and have breakfast.
Freshly rested we start at noon the next stage.
We ride partly offroad through dense jungle with giant ferns, coffee plantations and grass-covered steppes in the highlands. Some animals are crossing the road. We visit some other volcanic craters like Kawah Wurung (without walking).
In the early afternoon we arrive the village Jambit. We visit a old dutch colonial house from 1920 he years.
Only a few villages and people we will meet in this region.
An entirely new impression of Indonesia awaits us.
In the late afternoon we will reach a small village on the western flank of the Kawah Ijen.
Our accommotation for this night is so lovely, with a pool, some waterfalls like the "little niagara" or the hot springs nearby, (just 1 km away). Seat in a hot basins to relax after a busy day of sightseeing and activities.
Depending on the season invites the local coffee factory for a tour. It's very interesting!
Anyone who wants, can visit the waterfall (2km) and go for a swim there. It is fresh in the evening we still stay on 1200m altitude.
Our Dinner will be served in the restaurant from our guest house.Paragraph.

Day 3: Baluran National Park:
The day starts after the breakfast with a longer but not bored ride.
From the Ijen Area we follow the rural road from the high of our plateau to direction Bondowoso in the low land.
First, we can see on left and right side the coffee plantation and some great view to the volcanic mountains around. Later we enjoy our ride in many curves lower and lower. The forest will spend us over a lot of kilometer shadow.
After arriving the main road we will be back in the pure Indonesian life. We ride to the north and pass Situbondo.
It will be hot but we will get many impressions from Indonesian traffic and the life on the side of the streets.
After a coconut refresment in a small forest we have to ride some kilometer more before we will arrive the east flank of the Baluran National Park.
Before we enter our little Africa in Indonesia we take a lunch.
Until the sunset we will stay there. During sunset and more lovely the sunrise we get the best impressions of the nature and Wildlife there.
Monkeys, Buffalo, deer, peacocks and much more animals live in this microcosm.
Beaches, the savannah and the volcano Baluran guarantee a great photo shooting.
The time will passes very fast!
We have two options for our stay overnight.
1.)
We will equip us and stay in a rangerstation with basic double rooms in the middle of the wildlife.
We will cook by our own there, and enjoy our dinner with the voices of the jungle.
If we have luck the ranger will offer us a night safari by jeep.
For the sunrise we can enter a tower with a great view!
It´s amazing!
2.)
We leave the little Africa, it could be already dark. We will ride around 20 km on mainstreet to our booked Hotel and enjoy a fish dinner direct at the sea. (Other food also offered)
However just let us know what you like during your booking process.

Too fast the time passes on our tour.
We enter the ferry and go back to Bali.
From Java to Bali we will loose one hour, there is a time shift.
On our ride back to Seminyak we choose in the mountain a different way.
We will pass Mundunk, lake Buyan, Bedugul and lake Beratan with many photo stops. Lunch and cafe break with a nice view to the lakes and mountain.
Dependent how fast we are it will be possible to visit a waterfall, with the possibility to swim. Otherwise a Balinese Tempel.
On small roads parallel to the crowded main roads, we will arrive to our Homebase on late afternoon.

Just finished a 6-day tour of Bali and Java. Have to say, I enjoyed every minute of it. The bike (Honda CB500) was in excellent condition and perfect for the tour, given the wide variety of terrains we covered (tarmac to dirt to sand to rock). Holger, the guide, put together a superb itinerary that took us through many villages and backwaters of Java that tourists never venture. And Java's beauty is beyond description, truly, and well worth seeing.
The accommodations was always well chosen and comfortable. Even swimming pools at 3 of the places, which is perfect after a long, hot, sweaty day on the bike. Given that we traveled into some far flung areas of Java, it's not always possible to have 'international standard' all the time. But that's why I tour like this, and I expect things to be a bit rough around the edges at times.
The same with the food. For the most part, it's local food at local restaurants. Not always a lot of choice, and limited western foods, so if you are a picky eater or have a lot of dietary restrictions, then you might go hungry a bit :).
Java and Bali are also packed islands. Significant populations and dense cities. At times, when passing through these areas, it does require good spacial awareness and dexterity on the bike. Make sure you are equipped for that kind of riding mentally and physically by getting some practice in first before heading out on a tour.
As far as Motor Adventure Bali went, it was a seamless experience with them. Everything went as they had promised, and good communication with the team overall in the planning stages. Recommended!
